What property styling is
Property styling is the work of getting a home ready to be shown to people who might buy or rent it. Furniture, layout, lighting, colour and small finishes are arranged so that rooms read clearly both in person and in photographs. A stylist may work with what is already in the home, or bring in pieces that are taken away again later.
“The Kaurna are the region's traditional owners, and their name for the city centre and the Park Lands around it is Tarndanya.”

How property styling usually works
Most styling starts with a walk through the home and a talk about who is likely to look at it. The stylist then decides what stays, what goes into storage and what comes in. Bulky pieces may be moved or swapped so rooms feel clearer, and bedding, towels, art and plants are often added before photographs and viewings. Anything hired is usually collected once the property is no longer being shown.

Words people meet
A few words come up often. Styling is the arranging of a home for viewings and photographs. Staging is another word for the same idea. A property stylist is the person who does the work, and hire describes furniture that is brought in for a time and taken away again. Some stylists also offer a version done on a computer image rather than in the room itself.

About Adelaide
Adelaide is the capital of South Australia and the state's most populous city, and the fifth largest in the country. The city stands on the Adelaide Plains, which lie north of the Fleurieu Peninsula, with Gulf St Vincent to the west and the Mount Lofty Ranges to the east. More than 430 suburbs make up its metropolitan area, which reaches from Gawler down to Sellicks Beach, across 19 municipalities.
The Kaurna are the region's traditional owners, and their name for the city centre and the Park Lands around it is Tarndanya. The city began in 1836 as a planned capital for a British colony of free settlers, and its name honours Adelaide, wife of King William IV. Colonel William Light laid out the centre on a grid with wide boulevards, five public squares and a ring of parks, now listed as national heritage.
